This is my first character model. I decided to go with Ironman because I thought it would make the transition from hard surface modeling to character modeling easier...Well I was wrong about that! This thing was hard as fuck to model :)....I don't think you could necessarily call it a character model, considering there are no organic surfaces at all!!....Anyway...The suit's not solely based on the movie version. I'm using a bunch of reference pictures, some from the movie, some from the comic and a few different concepts I found online. Right now I'm just doing the first pass trying to get everything in the right place. I still need to go over it again and tweak some stuff out. As you can see there are a bunch of interpenetrating parts, the topology is also pretty whacked out in a few areas. The shoulder pads are just quick versions that still need to be tweaked and welded....lots of the seams between plates are too tight and not yet finalized. Plus I still need to model the hands, as well as some additional parts around the shoulders and neck.
